The Ready Approach focuses on three main sensory issues for people with autism :Problems of CONTROL - being able to respond with intention to the world and/or oneself.People who have problems of control lack the ability to be flexible and to adapt. Related behavior indicators include fixating, preoccupation, hyper-focusing.This correlates to a sensory processing issue called ModulationProblems of TOLERANCE - being able to stand or endure the world and ones own experience.People who have problems of tolerance lack the ability to tolerate sensations. Related experiences include physical and emotional pain, distress, discomfort and anxiety.This correlates to a sensory processing issue called DefensivenessProblems of CONNECTION - being able to make sense of the world and/or oneself.People who have problems of connection lack the ability to recognize, comprehend, or put sensations into a meaningful context to figure out their relevance or significance. Therefore, they end up feeling confused, being overwhelmed, and living at the mercy of what they experience or their sensations.This correlates to a sensory processing issues called Under Registration
